The first step in our Global Warming action plan is to measure carbon emissions. Do this so you know where you need to concentrate your efforts.
You can get a decent assessment of your carbon impact from many places. See the following link for a list of carbon calculators. However, we've singled out a few sites that really do a good job on the three key areas that you need to focus on most.

- Many of the sites listed in the link above do a good job, but if you want to be really precise, Terrapass has a great calculator that allows you to do a quick calculation, but also to fine tune the calculation with more data, if you have it.
- The Nature Conservancy calculator also helps you calculate the impact that food, diet and recycling have on your carbon impact.
