Personal Global Warming Action Checklist

Welcome to the Things That Make You Go Green .com Personal Global Warming Action Checklist! It's our way of organizing the many important things that we should be doing in order to reduce our carbon footprints and slow down global warming. We hope you'll find it useful as well!

We've come up with a basic structure for the checklist, which spans 4 major efforts. They are:

1. Measure

The first step in a plan to reduce you or your family's carbon footprint is to understand what impact you are having. You'll want to think about where your biggest problem areas are, and measure them using some of the tools provided here.

2. Reduce

Here we've complied ideas on how to reduce your personal carbon emissions as possible - from transportation to household and more.

3. Offset

Of course, it's nearly impossible to reduce your carbon impact entirely. With carbon offsets and renewable energy certificates, you can make up the difference.

4. Influence

Of course, your personal emissions are just tiny part of the problem. In order to really make an impact on climate change, we'll need to group together, influence our family, friends and government.

We've got a separate page for each major effort. Click on the links above to see details.

Finally, this is a wiki, so it's meant to be a collaborative document. If you have ideas for any of the efforts, please feel free to add them! Thanks!
